Car Wash Raises Money For Needed School Supplies
On Saturday August 20th we made a splash at our car wash project set up to raise donations and contributions for school supplies. With school opening just around the corner, we know that some families fine it hard to buy all the needed supplies for their children. We've been working through the local schools and have been able to pass along gift cards and supplies to the administration to use as they see the specific needs.
Many thanks to the folks who helped us make a difference.
All Together Worship A Big Success
Saturday August 27th .... Keswick Landing ..... what a wonderful worship experience for the whole family! Music, food, games, lots of special visitors and probably over 700 people made it a special occasion.
We were there with our CNBC Block Party Trailer, and the giant inflatable castle was a kid-magnet! The lineup just kept on going until we finally had to pack up with Hurricane Irene just minutes away! The rain fell all around Keswick Landing, but not a drop on All Together Worship, allowing the entire event to run to completion without getting wet! The Lord certainly had His hand on the whole event. Many thanks to the sponsors, the Landing owner, the great musicians and everyone who helped make this a great success and a great worship experience.
Mission Service Team Completes Halifax Project
Charlie Wright and Pierre Sauvé led three of our young men on a short Mission Service Project to Halifax, returning on July 20th from a time of clearing brush, mowing lawns and doing some much-needed gounds work at the CNBC Training Facility. In spite of the hot, humid weather and frequent rain, the team managed to accomplish their work and still find time for fun and sight-seeing in the area.
We're proud that these men are continuing Hope's commitment to living out our faith in service to others.

Finale for July Summer Suppers
Friday July 29th saw the last in this year's series of Hope Summer Suppers. Each Friday in July we had the pleasure of preparing and serving suppers to friends and visitors. We served over 250 suppers in all, but most importantly we had the opportunity to meet many folks for the first time as well as friends and neighbors.
We want to say a special "Thank You" to all those who came out to visit with us; it was truly our pleasure to serve you and we're already looking forward to doing the same next year. Meanwhile, please keep in touch with us as we're planning some special events during the Fall and Winter when we can enjoy another meal and fellowship together.
We hope that, in addition to enjoying some very special cuisine, you have caught a glimpse of the joy and spirit of Hope Community Church as we live out our mission of showing others Jesus' love through service.

Barb Hoyt Launches New Book
"The Uniquely Unusual Trip" came off the press in May and Barb has been busy promoting her publishing debut. Intended as a children's book for her own family, Barb's work has found a wider (and older!) audience as it finds the childhood memories in each reader.
Read the following Review.
Barbara Ann Hoyt is a local icon in her community. She is a devoted wife to Duane and mother to Brett (16) and Brady (9). She is an outdoors advocate enjoying family time hiking, biking, camping and geocaching. Barb was instrumental in fighting against the closing (for the winter) of the Mactaquac Provincial Park. With a passion for working with youth and seniors, Barb oversees the youth program at Hope Community church, Mactaquac, New Brunswick. Leading a crew of young people to participate in community work projects in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island for the past three summers, Barb was asked by the North American Mission Board to co-ordinate the entire PEI work project last summer. While her children are in school Barb offers care and assistance to local seniors in her community. Indoors, Barb spends time reading, writing, and painting. As a child Barb regularly spent time on her aunt and uncle’s farm where many adventures left lasting impressions that spun The Uniquely Unusual Trip. Anna Belle Watson is a young girl who is curious about her surroundings, and as she explores her grandparents’ old home she finds many unique surprises. Sharing her findings of a four-leaf clover with her grandmother sparks an adventure back in time. As a reader of this short (60 page) adventure it took me back to jam-jam cookies in my own grandmother’s kitchen, square dances of my youth and exploring family treasures. The importance of love in a family and above all faith in God our Father, The Uniquely Unusual Trip is a quick read for readers of all ages. It left me reminiscing of past family gatherings and a longing for simplicity. The Uniquely Unusual Trip can be purchased on-line at www.amazon.ca, www.barnsandnoble.com, and www.PublishAmerica.com. Barb can be reached at by email at barbie@nb.sympatico.ca
