Ministry TeamAt
Hope, we believe in sharing the load, and we believe that an effective
ministry is one in which many people participate. You'll also see that
our ministry vision is quite wide ... we focus on our community and, at
the same time, we want to lead the way by example in becoming involved
with ministries that reach beyond our borders and beyond ourselves.
Please
let us introduce some of our Hope folks to you, starting with our
Pastor. You can read his special welcome at the end of this section.
Marty and Cynthia Hall - Music Ministry
Both Marty and Cynthia come from a
professional music background and they continue to perform regularly. Marty is now a financial advisor and
Cynthia is a Teaching Assistant in the public schools. Cynthia is a Deaconess as well as a gifted craft maker who
first introduced Stampin' Up and Card Making to the ladies at Hope.
Charlie Wright - Treasurer, Senior Youth Leader
Charlie is a retired banker who enjoys traveling, golfing, sailing, skiing and being a great friend to our youth. Charlie can usually be found leading one of our many service projects and in 2010 he was appointed moderator of the ECBA.
Jim Tranquilla - Director, World Changers Leader
Jim is a consulting engineer who enjoys woodworking, building and flying airplanes, gardening and spending time with his wife, Lisa and his dog, Roscoe. Jim is serving the Canadian National Baptist Association as the Regional Partnership Coordinator for Atlantic Canada and in September 2011 he became a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and College (Cochrane, Alberta).
Chris & Evelyn FidlerChris is a professional carpenter and also a Deacon at Hope. You can usually find Chris using his talent to lend a helping hand in our community projects.
Evelyn is an historian who lives her work at King's Landing Historical Settlement. At Hope, she is our Junior Church teacher as well as being a dependable helper in our community service projects.
Barb Hoyt - Youth Program Coordinator
Barb is married to Duane and they are the
parents of two sons. Barb works with the elderly of the
community doing homecare; she is also a great outdoor enthusiast and a community leader in support of our Park. Barb has just published her first children's book and in 2010 she was
appointed as the Regional World Changers Promoter.
Norma Wright - Snowflake Tea, Samaritan's Purse
Norma is busy enjoying retired life with Charlie. She has a great enthusiasm for organizing special events at Hope and she shines when she's being a hostess of frequent gatherings at their home in Fredericton. This year Norma is organizing our year-long Christmas Child project.
Lisa Tranquilla - Clothing & Boot Exchange, Hands of Hope
Lisa is married to Jim, is mother to Stephen and Josie and works as a Secretary and Librarian in the public schools. Lisa has a great passion for serving others and is the leader of our Coat and Boot depot, which is a service that provides free clothing to the community in the Spring and Fall. Lisa is also a Director of JoyFM, Positive Hits 96.5FM, a local Christian radio station in Fredericton, NB.
Lisa & Jim - Home Study Group LeadersEach Sunday evening at 7:00 we have an informal Bible Study at Jim & Lisa's home in Lower Queensbury. Always started off with a snack and lots of conversation, the study time focuses on topics of special interest in our busy and sometimes challenging lives. Everyone is welcome to join us.
